Privacy policy
Effective October 23, 2026
This policy covers the Sales Perch app on Android and iPhone, and the Sales Perch website. It says what Sales Perch collects, who can see it and how to have your account deleted.
Who runs Sales Perch
Your employer, the company that gave you an account, provides Sales Perch to you. Computing America operates it.
Your company decides who has an account and what is recorded about its own staff.
What Sales Perch collects
- Your name, email address and user ID.
- Your precise location, for salespeople. In the Android and iPhone apps, the app sends it on Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, including when the app is closed or in the background. In a web browser, the page sends it about once a minute while the page is open and you have allowed location, at any hour.
- Your precise location, for drivers who are not also salespeople. Sales Perch sends it only while a delivery run is in progress. The Android and iPhone apps keep sending it in the background.
- Your location when you check in to a visit.
- Photos you take with the camera or choose from your photo library and attach to a visit.
- Visit notes and the other records you enter.
- Voice recordings, when you tap Dictate on a note. The recording is turned into text and then discarded. Only the text is kept.
- Photos of building directories and storefront signs that you take with building scan, if your company has turned it on.
- Sign-in events: the time, the sign-in method, the outcome, the email address used and your browser's user agent.
- A sign-in cookie, your language and company choice, and a queue of changes made offline that stays on your device until it syncs.
Sales Perch uses this data to run the service for your company. It is linked to your account.
Who can see it
People in your own company, according to their role. Other companies that use Sales Perch cannot see your company's data. Computing America platform administrators can open a company's data to support it.
- Location history: only people your company has given the restricted location permission can open the live map, which shows each salesperson's latest position and recent trail.
- Driver location: managers and administrators see a driver's position and route on the delivery board while a run is in progress.
- Daily summary: if your company has set it up, a daily email goes to the managers and administrators it chooses. For each salesperson it gives the distance travelled, the number of location reports and the times of the first and last. It does not include coordinates.
- Visits, notes and photos: managers and administrators see them in reports and exports.
- Sign-in events: your company's administrators see them.
What Sales Perch does not do
- It shows no advertising.
- It does not sell your data.
- It uses no third-party analytics or tracking tools. The app and the website load none.
Service providers
These providers process data to run Sales Perch.
- A hosting provider runs the website and the servers.
- A database provider stores your records.
- File storage holds your photos, either on the server or in an S3-compatible storage service.
- Resend sends email: invitations, reports and account deletion requests.
- OpenAI turns dictated recordings into text, reads the business names in building scan photos and researches those businesses. It receives the recording or the photo, not your location.
- Brave Search can look up the website of a business named in a building scan. It receives the business name.
- Microsoft Entra signs you in, for companies that use Microsoft work accounts. Microsoft tells Sales Perch your name and email address.
- Computing America ID is the Computing America sign-in service, for companies that use it.
- OpenStreetMap servers supply map images. Your browser asks them for each tile, so they see your IP address and the area you view.
- The US Census Bureau geocoder and OpenStreetMap's Nominatim turn client street addresses into map positions. They receive the address, not your name or your location.
- Directions links open Google Maps when you tap them. Google then receives the destination.
Security
Sales Perch is served over HTTPS, and it tells browsers to use HTTPS only.
Keeping and deleting your data
Sales Perch keeps your records while your company uses the service. You can ask for your account to be deleted. Requests are completed within 30 days.
